LIHEAP

On February 5, 2026, Senator Saval hosted a telephone town hall on the LIHEAP Program.

LIHEAP can help you keep your home warm and safe during the coldest seasons. From December 3, 2025, to April 10, 2026, you can apply for a cash grant to help pay your heating bill. You can receive from $200 to $1,000 based on your household size, income, and fuel type.

The cash grant is a one-time payment. The grant will be sent directly to your utility provider or fuel company to be credited on your bill.

Are you experiencing an emergency related to your household’s heat? You may be eligible to receive additional funds through a crisis grant.

Real ID

On April 4, 2025, Senator Saval hosted a telephone town hall on Real ID in Pennsylvania.

REAL ID is a federal law that affects how states issue driver’s licenses and ID cards to be acceptable for federal purposes.

REAL ID is optional. If you don’t get one, you’ll need another federally accepted ID, such as a passport or military ID, to board flights and enter certain federal facilities starting on May 7, 2025.

Property Tax/Rent Rebate

On Thursday, March 6, Senator Saval hosted a telephone town hall on updates to the the Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program. Our district has one of the highest costs of living in Pennsylvania, and many of our neighbors are cost-burdened by rent or property taxes, making this program crucial to offset some of these high expenses.

The Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program supports homeowners and renters across Pennsylvania. This program provides a rebate ranging from $380 to $1,000 to eligible older adults and people with disabilities age 18 and older.

Deed Fraud

On Tuesday, October 24, Senator Saval hosted a telephone town hall on DEED FRAUD.

Deed fraud occurs when a person sells a home by pretending to be the legal owner without having ever received the owner’s permission. This is becoming a serious issue in our city, robbing people not only of their property, but their safety and stability.

Fortunately, protecting your home and the homes of your loved ones from would-be scammers is simple and easy when you know where to go and what to do. At this telephone town hall, James Leonard, Commissioner of Records of the City of Philadelphia, shared the steps that Philly homeowners can take to safeguard their homes and what to do if they suspect they are being targeted or that deed fraud has occurred.
